Gynecomastia surgery
Gynecomastia is the enlargement of male breast tissue. Dr Walid Balti reminds that different factors can contribute to the condition:
- Childhood obesity
- Certain types of cancer (testicular cancer in particular)
- Certain medications
Note that some gynecomastia cases require the patient’s hormones levels to be checked to determine what caused the condition which usually presents in two different ways:
- Gynecomastia can be excess fat, which means breast enlargement is caused by the accumulation of fat in the chest area, most likely resulting from extra weight.
- Gynecomastia can be the enlargement of glandular tissue.
The treatments differs depending on the type of gynecomastia. In case of adipomastia (gynecomastia consisting of excess fat), Dr.Balti’s patients come in for a simple breasts liposuction in Tunisia. If both glandular and fat tissues are problematic, glandular tissue excision combined with liposuction can provide the expected result, which is essentially a breast reduction. In case of glandular tissue excess only, the mammary gland can be removed.
Botox injections to minimize facial wrinkles
Botox injections is one of the most requested non-invasive treatments for both men and women. The paralytic property of the botulinum toxin allows the surgeon to limit the contractions of certain muscles. The mimic wrinkles are alleviated thanks to the facial muscles being relaxed. Botox injections are particularly effective to treat forehead wrinkles, crow’s feet and wrinkles between the eyebrows.
After a single session of Botox injections, wrinkles are reduced, the face is relaxed and the patient looks rested and rejuvenated. This is why facial rejuvenation with injectables is sometimes referred to as the ‘liquid facelift’.
The treatment is quick and painless. Dr.Balti injects Botox in precise areas to target the muscles responsible for the formation of wrinkles. The final result can be seen around 3 weeks after the injections and the duration of effect ranges from 4 to 8 months.
